THE SLEEPOUT

015

Living in a big old house has created in me a guilt complex about spatial disuse. After 6 months, I have surrendered to my inability to use all corners of the house at all times and have placed myself at the window of the sleepout to watch the Passing Parade as is my wont. I was once promised a Room with a View at a time in my life when the Views were from the third floor of an old building on South Dowling Street in Surry Hills and when I had no Room  of my own at all.

ACROSS THE ROAD IN COLDSTREAM

014

With the excitement of the Baby’s birth settling down and me home in Ulmarra, I return to the pace of the Village Life. 0.6 kms from the Village in fact.  I have moved the little white desk to the front verandah windows for fresh air in the Summertime. The holiday traffic passes east west and west east from the Coast beyond Pilar Valley to the Highway.

And, as for me, I sit at the window as I have done for many years now and watch the passing parade.
